How long after the breakup?

sad to say, my girlfriend and i broke up tonight. we had been dating for a few months but the last month has been very exhausting for the both of us. although it was difficult, we agreed it was for the best. we both have the desire to maintain a healthy friendship, we both still love each other very much, but the relationship wasn't working out for us because too many things were getting in the way. in about two weeks we had plans to go to a concert together with a couple of my friends. i wonder if that might be too soon for us to see each other without causing confusion or more heartache that we aren't together anymore as a couple. i think there is a little hope on both our parts that we might end up getting back together at some point down the road, but as of now we have an understanding that this break is necessary. we won't be talking for the next couple of weeks, something we have never done before. is it possible for us to go to this concert and remain plutonic without walking away with more pain and heartache?
