Is something being done about the potential health threat?

Over the past ten years there have been several instances of poisoned pet food and lead based toys coming from places like China and sold in America. Now there is a nuclear meltdown in Japan and who knows how far the radiation will spread. Since nations like China, Japan and Korea have shown that they don't care about selling dangerous products in the U.S. Considering the Japanese disaster will the U.S. government be doing something to safeguard the American people from potentially radioactive products being sold in this nation. Or will this be another instance in which people spend their time shouting about "free market". I know I won't buy anything labeled Made In China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and so on until I run a Geiger counter over it.
