Meiosis and mitosis ?

basically, Mitosis is when a cell (i'll explain it in terms of human cells) splits when it duplicates its DNA. This means that when human cells split to make new cells they have to duplicate their chromosomes so the 2 daughter cells will have the same amount of chromosomes as the parent. So a normal human cell has 46 chromosomes when its about to split it duplicates it to 92 then when split, the 2 cells will bothe have 46 again. Meiosis is when the splitting cell does not duplicate its Chromosomes and just splits, this happens in cells so a normal cell has 46 chromosomes, when split into 2 sperm cells, each sperm cell only has 23 chromosomes!
