What is your take on bilingual teaching in elementary schools?

I think its goods. It shows children there are other cultures out there and makes them more accepting to them. The children might also pick up simple words from the other language. The children might want to learn another language so they have more incommon with the teacher or just impress others. And true this country was founded mostly by the English but not everyone is an english decent. Many immigrants (non english speaking ones) came to this country and made it their own. Improving American lives with their inventions and food. Why shouldn't we allow others to improve the country as well?
