Why has the BBC and other western media turned into a propaganda machine?

i mean they been focused so intensly on libya past week ,reporting lies and brain washing news reports that are not even true.For example they saying tens of thouands of ppl have taken up arms to fight gaddafis military,when in reality if u look closely less then a 100 people can be seen with arms (in iraq these armed people were called insurgents), the same goes for the street protests in the east and north of libya, only a small number of people can be seen protesting, And the so called tens of thousands of refugees that hve med on the borders in Tunesia are less then a few thousand,If you put your mind back at the toppling of saddams statue in bhagdad, the bbc reported that thousands of people turned out to see saddams statue topple and yet in realty only less then 100 people were there.If you want to talk about refugees ,go take a look at the millions that left iraq when the nazi led invasion occured, over four million people fled iraq to counteries like iran, syria, jordan even palestine and most of there has still not returned as iraq is still a dangerous place for them to return to run by the u/s backed dictator in power, And what realy caps of the BBC's propaganda is in all the unrests in north africa and middle east not one news reporter whether local or an international has been killed covering the protests, yet in Iraq over 150 reporters from international news media teams have been killed, this is three times more then the first, second world wars ,plus all the conflicts around the world put together. By the way the news reporters where mostly killed by u.s military ,saying they mistook them for insurgents.
