The Anti-Drug debate?

I am speaking of strictly marijuana. Why are you against/for it or its legalization? I personally am all for it. I will always be an avid defender of the green. Marijuana has in no way made me the depressed, lazy, stupid, dangerous or unsuccessful slacker or addict the anti-drug people want to the public to believe all pot smokers will become. I mean, do I sound stupid to you? Do I sound like a hollow shell of person who floats on the smoke with no opinions or insight? I believe the reasons for it being illegal have nothing to do with its side effects and the fact it gets you high, but rather because the government does not see the benefit of the plant which in fact is a very useful resource in so many other ways separate from recreational use (health-wise, agriculturally, economically). Furthermore I believe everyone has the right to put whatever kind of drug into their body that they wish, and that the government in no way should impede upon that right. Sure, the popularized definition of a “drug” is anything that alters your normal body functions when ingested, but can it really be considered a “drug” when it comes straight out of the ground? I also hear that more young adults than ever are seeking treatment in marijuana-rehab. I don’t think it’s because they are really addicted to marijuana. I think it’s because they caught and are given two choices; rehab or jail? I mean, which would you choose? Maybe you have evidence that contradicts my own. Maybe you are not an advocate of the plant, in any of its uses. I would genuinely like to hear varying opinions.
